This
incredible adventure, mixes the experience of sea kayaking in calm waters,
with the relaxing hot springs baths and breathtaking walks through the
impenetrable wild jungle of the remote and beautiful Patagonia.
Day 1
We will begin our expedition in Puerto Montt, visiting the "Alerce Andino
National Park", a beautiful place where we will walk through wild vegetation
and incredible thousands of year old larch- trees, which are protected
and preserved in the park. Then we continue towards Hornopirén, a small
village set in a calm cove with amazing turquoise waters and beside
another National Park, "Hornopirén". Close to the pumalín National Park,
location our camp will be set-up and waiting for us with a good typical
dinner: seafood and good Chilean wine. Optional trekking.
Day 2
Our adventure continues after a good breakfast, learning how to steer
the kayak, as well as how it is loaded with the necessary equipment
for the trip. The incredible landscapes of Southern Hornopirén is where
we will start our kayaking expedition through the Comau fjord. These
wonderful sea arms that penetrate the land, have many other smaller
fjords surrounded by snow capped mountains catching the fog, dolphins
swimming beside your kayak and incredible virgen woods. During our excursion
we will enjoy warm baths in the "Llancahué" hot springs in the Llancahué
island, where our camp will be set-up and waiting for us.
Day 3
After looking over Llancahue, our expedition will head up to Pichanco
in the Quintupeo fjords, where we will enjoy the big ocean view Cahuelmó
hot spring bathing tubs, carved in stone and surrounded by ferns. Here
is where our camp will be set-up.
Day 4
After a good breakfast we will undertake a 5 hour paddling, interrupted
for resting breaks and for lunch, to finally reach the Cahuelmo Fjords,
where we will have time to discover this area's inpenetrable forest.
Here we will prepare our camp to sleep.
Day 5
Early this morning we will take a boat to Caleta Gonzalo in Pumalin
National Park. This Park is a nature reserve owned by the ecologist
Douglas Tompkins, and is where we will discover the grandiose wilderness,
which expresses itself through amazing native woods, rivers and volcanoes;
after a short trekking, we will continue south, with a support vehicle
that will take us to the charming town of Chaitén, where we will stay
at Hotel Mi Casa or similar.
Day 6
Our expedition will continue to Futaleufú, a picturesque village set
near the Argentinean border, and beside the light blue waters of the
Futaleufú river. En route we will have the opportunity to visit the
hot springs of "El Amarillo" and enjoy the incredible views of the surroundings.
Once we reach the Futaleufú River, we will enjoy rafting the same waters
where the Rafting World Cup 2000 took place. Night at Rio Grande hotel.
Day 7
After a good breakfast we will to return to Chaiten in advance for a
scheduled flight to Puerto Montt.
